The Acklinators Leave Their Mark!

I added the pics in a reverse order...scroll to the bottom of this post to see the progress chronologically!!! Thanks again Glenn and Julie for all your hard work!!! We really appreciated your visit, and the next one will be much more relaxing...we think...

With our bed in the bedroom, there actually seems to still be some room...after sleeping on our mattress on the floor for the past 6 months or so, we're having to acclimate ourselves to the new altitude of our bed...we're not complaining...

Here's Emily reclining after the carpet was installed...we're crossing our fingers that the new fan stays in the ceiling where it is supposed to! It sort of is our early warning system in case the entire ceiling decides to come crashing down some night...

Glenn thought it would be smart to add some support under the toilet in the bathroom so guests woudn't end up down in the basement...thanks!

Looking like a home!

It was a big work weekend at 134 N Linden, scrapping, sanding, busting out the front tile, and sweating profusely to figure out how to get the particle board to come unglued before I did!

We're still working on the tile and particle board, well, I guess we're still working on the floor too...and anxiously awaiting the arrival of a food-for-work contigency of The Acklin Family Construction Co. and have big plans for when they arrive! Emily has told them that they will be on somewhat of a vacation...I'm not sure where she got that idea...stay tuned for more big changes, coming over the next 1-2 weeks!

Goodbye Plaster!

Here's the latest measureable progress...with the help of our friend, Adam, we were able to texture the livingroom/dining rooms in just a night!

We'll be texturing the second bedroom, and actually painting the livingroom/dining rooms tomorrow!

Stay tuned for some dramatic change...its starting to feel like less of a shack and more of a home!
